“Drive for show, putt for dough” -anonymous
If you’re a serious player, or you just want to get better at disc golf, a personal practice basket is an absolute must have. The quote above is a really good way to think about the game. We all want to show off with our drives, but our putting is what helps us win.
When I bought my practice basket a few years ago, I was stoked. And because of that single purchase, my game has improved dramatically. If you want that improvement, check out our list of the best baskets below and get yourself a personal basket today!
What are the 17 best disc golf baskets?

15. Yaheetech 24-Chain Disc Golf Basket
16. Dynamic Discs Scout Fold-up Basket
17. DGA Mach 2 Disc Golf Basket
But why do I need a practice basket? 3 reasons
1. Take your game to the next level
Just like what I said earlier, a personal practice basket helped me improve my game tremendously. I always try to put tips out on my site that can help you take your game up a notch…to another level. Getting yourself a basket is one of those tips. That basket, if practiced with correctly, can help improve your game tenfold. So get one!
2. You can practice whenever you want
The best part about having a basket at home is being able to take advantage of it whenever you want. 2 a.m. putting practice? Yep, sounds good to me. Want to wake up at 5 a.m. and get some putts in? Go for it. Just be courteous of your neighbors in an apartment or townhouse complex!
3. They’re relatively cheap to buy, then everything is free!
The basket I bought cost around $150 bucks and has been enjoyed now for multiple years. It’s such a great way to practice my game for free. The great thing about almost all of these baskets is that they’re normally less than $200 bucks. I do have a couple of high-quality, expensive baskets on this list, though. So find one that suits your style and budget.
The 17 best disc golf baskets
1. DGA Mach Lite Fold-up Basket
Type: portable fold-up
The Mach Lite from DGA is a really cool, fold-up option for someone in need of a lot of portability. This basket is very highly reviewed and sought after, as it’s made with quality in mind. This basket is very close to feeling like a regular course basket, but can be broken down and taken with you wherever you go. This is a great basket and deserves to be at the top of the list. Grab one for yourself here on Amazon.com.
2. Innova DISCatcher Pro Basket
Type: portable metal
The DISCatcher Pro Basket is THE standard. It’s the basket that you see at almost every local disc golf course around the world. I would’ve ranked this basket #1 just out of sheer popularity, but it has a drawback with the pricetag…it’s like $200 bucks. But hey, this basket is insanely high-quality and deserves to be your personal basket if you can fork over the cash. Absolutely great investment for your game if you can swing it. Grab one here on Amazon.com.
3. Axiom Pro Basket
Type: portable metal
I love the look of the Axiom Pro basket. It just looks so readily made for course play. When I build my course in the future, I’m going to use either the Dynamic Discs Recruit or these baskets to build it. The Pro Basket is made with 24 “zinc-coated heavy duty course-weighted chains,” allowing for a great throwing experience. Amazon states that the specs of this basket are the same as the Black Hole Pro (but this basket is available in like 6 different colors!). Grab this awesome basket here on Amazon.com.
4. MVP Black Hole Lite Basket
Type: portable metal
The Black Hole Lite practice basket is a really great way to improve your disc golf game quick and easy. This basket normally runs at a very inexpensive price around $120 bucks and is very well made. This 24-chain basket is an excellent choice for a personal basket. Grab yours here on Amazon.com.
5. Yaheetech Portable Disc Golf Basket
Type: portable metal
Even though Yaheetech isn’t a disc golf brand, they’ve got two baskets on this list because they’re decent quality and super cheap. I’ve got this one on here because you can get it on Amazon for like $50-60 bucks. At the time of this writing, it’s $55 with a $5 off coupon. I mean, if you want something decent for the lowest price you have to spend on a legitimate basket, this is your choice. Check the current price for this basket here (link to Amazon).
6. MVP Black Hole Precision Trainer
Type: portable metal precision trainer
The Precision Trainer from MVP is a putting training aid for serious disc golfers. This basket, like the other precision baskets on this list, features chains tightly grouped together for a very tough putt at the basket. I would only recommend this for intermediate to advanced throwers looking to step their game up a few notches. This basket is the cheapest amongst those precision training baskets with small chains. The Black Hole Precision Trainer usually runs around $130-140 dollars, but you can check current prices on Amazon.com here.
7. Dynamic Discs Recruit Basket
Type: portable metal
The Dynamic Discs Recruit is a really solid, high-quality basket for your disc golf game. Dynamic tends to make quality gear outside of discs and it doesn’t end with this basket. The Recruit will run you about $250 dollars, but is well worth the investment. Check out the current price here on Amazon.com.
8. Remix Practice Basket
Type: portable metal
The Remix basket is a great budget-friendly option for disc golfers. If you want a basket true to those on the course, this isn’t it. But if you’re new and just want a decent basket to throw into, the Remix is a great choice. Check it out here on Amazon.com.
9. Topeakmart 18-Chain Disc Golf Basket
Type: portable metal
Even though this brand isn’t really a disc golf company, they’ve given us the ability to get a decent quality metal basket for less than $80 dollars. I’d say that’s pretty damn good. This basket has an 18-chain design and is close to being the best quality basket for your money on this list. Grab yours here on Amazon.
10. Discraft Chainstar LITE 24-Chain Disc Golf Basket
Type: portable metal
The Chainstar LITE is a very solid, budget-friendly option for your next disc golf basket. This basket features a clean 24-chain design and an easy setup and breakdown in only a few minutes time. Check the current price here on Amazon.
11. Innova DISCatcher Traveler Fold-up Basket
Type: portable fold-up
I love the traveler basket from Innova. It’s a really good, portable fold-up basket option for golfers on the go. This is another great opportunity to practice your putting wherever you go. Check this basket out! It usually runs for around $110-125 bucks and you can get yourself one here on Amazon.com.
12. Latitude 64 ProBasket Trainer
Type: portable metal
This basket from Latitude 64 is a decent, quality setup for disc golfers looking for something to last them a long while. This basket is a bit pricey at around $200 bucks, but still a good option. Grab yours here on Amazon.com.
13. Innova Skillshot Basket
Type: portable fold-up
The Skillshot is a nifty little portable disc golf basket that will run you around $110-120 bucks. Infinite Discs claims that the Skillshot is, “the most portable basket in disc golf…folding to the size of a golf umbrella.” Again, I’m a big fan of fold-up baskets so grab yourself one here on Amazon.com.
14. MVP Black Hole Pro Basket
Type: portable metal
The Black Hole Pro HD by MVP is a fantastic choice for a personal practice basket. This baby is a 30-chain, weather-resistant beast that MVP claims can be disassembled in under a minute for quick travel. Not a bad choice, but the price stays around $175 bucks. Grab one here on Amazon.com.
15. Yaheetech 24-Chain Disc Golf Basket
Type: portable metal
As I mentioned earlier, Yaheetech isn’t a disc golf company and they really only make a couple of baskets. But they’ve got a couple of good, cheap options to choose from. Nothing too special, though, about this basket. But it’s a cheap, durable option for you. This basket runs around $100 bucks but you can check current prices here on Amazon.
16. Dynamic Discs Scout Fold-up Basket
Type: portable fold-up
I like the Dynamic Discs Scout basket A LOT. It’s very similar to the Innova Traveler and the DGA Mach Lite, but the Scout has awesome features that make it unique and different than all other baskets on the market. If you’d like to check it out, you can find it here on Amazon.you can find it here on Amazon.
17. DGA Mach 2 Disc Golf Basket
Type: portable metal
The DGA Mach 2 closes out our list today. I’ve ranked it last because of the price tag: just north of $250. This basket is made of Galvanized Steel, which DGA states is supposed to keep the basket rust free in outdoor conditions. Construction on the Mach 2 is heavy duty, which should allow the basket to last a long time for you. Grab yours here on Amazon.
