The 20 Best Disc Golf Discs of 2020
Our #1 Pick – Discraft Zeus (Distance Driver)
The new Discraft Zeus is an absolutely phenominal disc and is Paul McBeth’s new signature distance driver. After playing with this disc, I’ve gotta say that I’m pretty happy with it. This disc started out as the Kong prototype, and after a tremendous amount of popularity and hype, it was changed to the Zeus – king of the skies.
With flight ratings of 12, 5, -1, 3, the Zeus was one of the hottest releases that InfiniteDiscs.com has ever seen and has remained a ridiculously popular disc (even beating out the Innova Destroyer for most of 2019). This disc is overstable so you need to be able to handle it. But for those who can, the Zeus will help you dominate on the course in many different driving and long shot situations. This is a great disc, but not recommended for beginners. If you think you can handle it, grab one here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
2. Innova Destroyer – Distance Driver
I tried not to put too many classic discs on this list, but I had to add the Destroyer to this list because of how great of a disc it is. The Destroyer has been extremely popular for a long time and is the #1 selling disc on InfiniteDiscs.com, according to their site.
With flight ratings of 12, 5, -1, 3, the Destroyer is fairly overstable, rivals the Discraft Zeus, and is great for intermediate to advanced players. It’s the perfect middle ground of reliability and distance. It will fly straight for you for a long time if you get enough behind it. If you don’t have one already, definitely grab a Destroyer here on Discgolfunited.com.
3. Discmania P2 “Psycho” – Putt and Approach
The P2 “Psycho” is a super popular new putter from Discmania. The flight ratings of 2, 3, 0, 2 make this a really easy disc to throw and putt with. The P2 is a fantastic throwing putter and can make a great learning disc for new disc golfers. You can get a P2 here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
4. Discmania DD3 “Cloudbreaker” – Distance Driver
The DD3 “Cloudbreaker” is Eagle McMahon’s new signature distance driver, with flight ratings of 12, 5, -1, 3. Similar to the Discraft Zeus and the Innova Destroyer, this disc is meant to fly, and did I mention that it’s meant to fly? Yes, with a 5 glide flight rating, this disc screams distance on it’s way to a 400+ foot drive. If you want max distance, go with the DD3. You can get one here off of InfiniteDiscs.com.
5. Discraft Luna – Putt and Approach
The Luna is Paul McBeth’s new signature putter from Discraft. This new piece of plastic is freakin’ awesome. It’s probably one of the stiffest, grippiest putters I’ve ever felt, which I really like. I’m a huge fan of the Judge and this kind if feels like an overstable Judge but with even more stiffness and grip. Infinite states that, “it works great as a low-glide, beadless putter for players who putt with a lot of confidence.” The Luna will also consistently help your approach game and can absolutely fly if thrown with power. If you want a great putter, grab the Luna (link to InfiniteDiscs.com).
Check out Paul park his Luna from 450 feet out in the video below.

6. Innova Pig – Putt and Approach
The Pig, although not new, has started to become popular as of late because of fantastic play by disc golf pro Ricky Wysocki. The Pig has flight ratings of 3, 1, 0, 3 and is great for hyzer putts, putting/approaching in the wind, and for those who want a really comfortable-feeling disc. The pig makes a great addition to a competitive bag. Check it out here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
7. Discmania Signature Swirly S-Line FD3 Doom Bird III – Fairway/Control Driver
The FD3 Doom Bird III was a very highly anticipated release from Discmania at the end of 2019. With flight ratings of 9, 4, 0, 3, Infinite Discs states that, “The FD3 features an aerodynamic low profile and a very comfortable concave lower rim…[and] you can rely on the FD3’s long but powerful and forward-penetrating fade.” This is a great new addition to Discmanias’s lineup and can serve as a nice transition disc for intermediate players looking for something a bit more overstable. If that’s you, or you just want a great disc, grab an FD3 Doom Bird III here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
8. Dynamic Discs Raider – Distance Driver
The Raider from Dynamic Discs is their new overstable distance driver. With flight ratings of 13, 5, -0.5, 3, you’d better be ready and capable of handling a super fast, very overstable disc. Because that’s what the Raider is…tough. But for those who are at that advanced level of throwing, the Raider will absolutely crush your distance. I mean, this disc really flies far if thrown correctly. If you want a really awesome distance disc, check out the Raider here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
9. Innova Lion – Mid-range
The Lion is Innova’s new mid-range. With flight ratings of 5, 4, 0, 2, this disc has been described as a middle ground between the Mako3 and the Roc3. With its flat top and beaded rim, the Lion feels good when thrown and usually flies how you want it to. You can get a Lion here on Discgolfunited.com.
10. Discraft Raptor – Fairway/Control Driver
The All-new Raptor from Discraft is a unique addition and an excellent control driver (flight ratings of 9, 4, 0, 3). The Raptor is extremely reliable and very easy to control. It will hold just about any line you put it on. It has been highly reviewed so far and will easily fill the gap in between your distance driver and your mid-range range. Definitely not a disc for beginners, though. Grab your Raptor here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
11. Latitude 64 Recoil – Distance Driver
The Recoil is Latitude 64’s new distance driver. With flight ratings of 12, 4, 0, 3, this overstable beast is comfortable in the hand and reliable in distance. If you like the Dynamic Discs Trespass, you will love this slightly more overstable driver. A lot of players already do. You can get a Recoil here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
12. Infinite Discs Pharoah – Distance Driver
Built similar to the Dynamic Discs Sheriff, the Pharaoh is a really cool new Distance Driver from Infinite Discs. The Pharaoh’s flight ratings are 13, 6, -1, 2, so you really need to be able to handle a high-speed driver if you want to throw this disc. But the Pharaoh is a great disc and it has a nice feel to it (all of Infinite’s discs are made by Innova so you’ll get excellent quality plastic). This disc has a bit of fade on the end but flies fairly straight as long as it is thrown with maximum speed. If you think you can handle it, you can get this awesome driver on InfiniteDiscs.com.
13. Streamline Pilot – Putt and Approach
The Pilot, by Streamline discs, “is a medium depth small bead putt and approach disc with a comfortable round nose,” according to InfiniteDiscs.com. With flight ratings of 2, 5, -1, 1, this putter is a stable, straight-flying putter with a ton of glide. Now the Pilot isn’t that new, but Streamline continues to improve on this disc and make the plastics better and better. If you want a really strong putter that always hits its mark, grab a pilot here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
14. Innova Firefly – Putt and Approach
The Firefly from Innova is the new signature putter of pro Nate Sexton. It’s a stable, straight-flying disc, with flight ratings of 2, 3, 0, 1. The Firefly is beadless with a good firm grip for all putting, approaching, and short driving situations. Also, a lot of players have compared this with the Discmania P2, so it definitely has alot of potential. Grab a firefly here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
15. Dynamic Discs Sheriff – Distance Driver
If you’ve read almost anything else on this site, you’ll probably have noticed my love of the Sheriff. This is hands down my favorite disc and is pretty popular among a lot of other people in the #discgolfcommunity. It’s definitely a classic disc and a must have in your bag. This disc is extremely versatile, making it the true multi-tool of my bag. It has flight ratings of 13, 5, -1, 2, and is capable of crushing a variety of different shots. If you want a great distance driver, check out the Sheriff here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
16. Discraft Anax (Prototype) – Fairway/Control/Power Driver
Pronounced “Onyx,” like the gemstone or the pokemon, the Anax is one of the newest discs from Discraft and is the signature fairway/power driver (flight ratings of 10, 6, 0, 3). This baby is a straight-flying disc with a super predictable fade on the end. If you’re looking for that fade on the end, along with a great drive, grab an Anax here on InfiniteDiscs.com because this disc will give you what you need.
17. Westside Discs Gatekeeper – Mid-range
The new Gatekeeper from Westside is an interesting piece of plastic. It’s designed with ease of throwing in mind. With flight ratings of 4, 5, 0, 2, it is a bit overstable but still not a difficult disc to throw. This disc is great at holding angles, going where you want it to go, and giving you a touch of fade at the end of flight. If you want a great mid-range, grab a Gatekeeper here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
18. Innova Shryke – Distance Driver
The Shryke is a relatively new, and popular, distance driver from Innova. The Shryke sports flight ratings of 13, 6, -2, 2, which means that this is a fast disc that will glide fairly far. It will also give you good turn early on and good fade on the back end. If you can handle a distance driver with a lot of speed, you should check out the Shryke. You can get it here on Discgolfunited.com.
19. Infinite Discs Centurion – Fairway/Control Driver
The Centurion is a newer control driver from Infinite Discs. With flight ratings of 7, 5, -1, 1.5, this disc doesn’t have to be thrown very hard to hit stride and glide. Did I mention the glide? This disc flies pretty straight and has a small, predictable fade at the end. This a great driver for newer players who’ve gotten a few rounds under their belt. You can grab one here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
20. Discraft ESP Buzzz – Mid-range
I put the Buzzz on this 2020 list because, like the other classic discs on here, it’s one that you should really get if you don’t have it already. The Buzzz is one of the most popular discs in the world and only looks cooler now that it’s come out in the new ESP edition. These discs look really cool and they throw just the same as they always have – extremely well.
The Buzzz is a reliable, dependable, and forgiving disc with flight ratings of 5, 4, -1, 1. The ESP plastic is new, advanced polymer plastic that is highly durable and fairly grippy. The Buzzz is one of my go-to mid-range discs and is usually my choice for single disc rounds as it is an awesome all-around disc golf disc. Definitely get Buzzz if you don’t have one yet. You can get it here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
Overall
There are a ton of awesome discs on the market today. And they just keep getting better and better. So hopefully I’ve been able to help you find a couple more great discs for your bag with this post. I know 2020 will be great and some brand new plastic should serve you well and let you absolutely crush it on the course.
