Disc golf used to be a simple game. Frisbee discs were the norm and players played mainly for fun or friendly competition. Few people really knew about “frisbee golf.”
But as the sport has grown, the quality of the discs has gotten better and better. Because of that, the sport has seen some truly incredible discs over the years.
What was once cheap and rounded plastic has evolved into cutting edge science. In a new age of disc golf discs, companies create artistic masterpieces with the input of research teams and professional disc golfers. All for championships, sponsorships, and big bucks. It’s not a simple game anymore.
Putters fly hundreds of feet, mid-range discs are ultra-precise, fairway drivers offer controlled air superiority, and distance drivers…well, they’re simply spectacular. Distance drivers are the most evolved disc golf discs in the game and offer players the ability to throw unthinkable distances…but only if their arms can match the flight ratings.
So in this post, we’re going to be talking about the all-time best distance drivers. The discs that have given players the most distance over the years. And the discs that have stood the test of time on the course.
These are the distance drivers that you want in your bag.
How do we get max distance?
But first, how do we get max distance on the course? Well, you obviously need to be throwing drivers. And if you want the most distance, max distance drivers are going to be what you’d want to use. You’ve made it to this post, so you’re good there.
Next up, I want you to focus on the flight ratings. For more distance, you’ll want discs with a speed of 12 or more and a glide rating of 5 or higher. Both of those will allow you to throw discs really far.
Lastly, make sure you have the skills to throw these discs. If you’re not skilled enough to throw distance drivers, it will show when you try to throw them. Because you aren’t prepared for those discs, you won’t get max distance out of them. If that’s you, work your way up from putters to mid-range discs to control drivers and finally, distance drivers.
That’s how you really earn your long-distance drives. Put in the work and it will pay off.
The 7 best disc golf distance drivers of all-time
My #1 Pick – Innova Destroyer (12, 5, -1, 3)
The Innova Destroyer has been the most popular distance driver for years now. Because it’s just a great disc golf driver. Once this disc was molded, it basically set the standard for disc golf distance drivers from that point on.
The Destroyer comes in many different stamps and plastics, offering players a wide variety of discs to try out. Although it may offer variety, each and every Destroyer made also offers a player the renowned predictability that has made this disc famous. It’s going to fly like all the other new Destroyers out there and it will fly exactly how the flight ratings have told it to.
It’s tough if you’re not ready for it, but masterful for intermediate and advanced disc golfers.

2. Dynamic Discs Sheriff (13, 5, -1, 2)
I LOVE the Sheriff, y’all. This has been my favorite distance driver for years. Even when I was a newer disc golfer, and couldn’t hardly throw any disc to save my life, the Sheriff somehow always came through for me. It’s just an insanely forgiving, versatile, and fun driver to throw.
If anything, the Sheriff should be looked at like a disc golfer’s multi-tool – great in a variety of situations including long anhyzers, flex shots, straight distance shots, and pure hyzers. Once you throw this disc, you will quickly add it to your bag. It’s just such a great distance driver.

3. Innova Boss (13, 5, -1, 3)
This disc is the freakin’ boss. No, seriously, this is the Innova Boss. And it’s an amazing distance drivers with years of positive reviews. Infinite Discs states that the Boss was actually the very first disc with a 13 speed ratings over a decade ago. Now, we’ve got discs with a 15 speed! You can see some of those awesome discs here in this post that I wrote on the fastest disc golf discs in the game!
But those other high-speed drivers have nothing on the Boss. This disc has a VERY LARGE following. The players who use this disc often find the turn very manageable and the fade at the end insanely predictable. You will see a little bit of a hook at the end of flight, so make sure you have the arm to handle this disc.

4. Infinite Discs Pharaoh (13, 6, -1, 2)
The Pharaoh has only been out a couple of years, but it has become a staple driver in a lot of disc golf bags for 2 reasons. The first, well, it’s just an overall fantastic disc. The second reason is because all of Infinite’s discs are manufactured by Innova. And Innova makes quality discs. Read about it here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
As for flight, this is a very fast disc with a lot of glide. If you’ve got the arm, and you put this into the air with some power, it’s going to get you a lot of distance. True distance driver, through and through, right here. Not much turn and fade on this one. Good stability keeps it pretty straight. Overall GREAT disc.

5. Discraft Zeus (12, 5, -1, 3)
When the Zeus came out in 2019, it was a hit. Discraft wanted to do 2 major things with this disc: the first was to release a Paul McBeth branded disc (to showcase his new partnership and success with Discraft) and the second was to make an awesome disc to compete with the Innova Destroyer. Well, they’ve done that and more. The Zeus has been one of Discraft’s most successful releases EVER.
As for flight, they’ve nailed they’re attempt to compete with the Destroyer. It’s has the exact same flight ratings, but I’d argue that it flies just a little bit better than the Destroyer. Some disc golfers would disagree while others would back me on that statement. But either way, the Zeus is a great disc that deserves a spot in your bag (if you’re not already telling the Destroyer). Even if you’re a destroyer fan, I would encourage you to try out the Zeus and judge which one you like better!

6. Legacy Cannon (14, 5, -3, 3)
The Legacy Cannon is an awesome disc. Kind of similar to an Innova Sidewinder but with more speed. This is a very tough disc to throw. If you have the power, this disc is going to have a crazy flight. Because it’s got a lot of turn and a lot of fade. This disc is great for shot shaping and insane distance for advanced players.
Here’s what Legacy has to say about the Cannon: “The younger brother of the Rampage, the Cannon is another high speed driver. This disc will come off the tee every bit as fast as the Rampage, though with a strong turn and lengthy glide. The Cannon also has a much slower fade at the end of its flight, providing for the longest flight in the market. The Cannon will be replacing most high speed drivers out there.”

7. Westside Discs King (14, 5, -1.5, 3)
The King is an interesting disc golf distance driver. It’s extremely fast, so most players don’t even need to bother with it. If you don’t have an arm, try some of the other discs on this list first.
This disc, on the course, is very overstable. You will get just a little bit of turn at first, but the fade will usually take over and negate any of that opening turn. However, decent turn and fade, plus good glide equals a long flight down the fairway. If you think you can handle it, this can be a great distance driver for your bag.
If you’d like to check out the King, grab one here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
The final say
The discs on this list are, by far, the best distance drivers in all of disc golf. And they have the reviews and popularity to prove it. So hopefully this list will help you out. If not, no worries. But you’ll be missing out on some of the best discs in the game. Don’t do that. Grab a couple of these discs and hit the course! You won’t regret it.
