Disc golf is tough. And as the sport continues to grow in popularity, so too does the competition.
Players are getting better, plastic is becoming higher-quality, and the need to be good at this sport is more present than ever.
That means we need to improve…quickly.
One easy way to improve your disc golf game is by consistently practicing your putting. With that, you need a few good discs to help you along the way. Because having a great putter can truly make all the difference.
Today, I’ve brought you the top 5 best disc golf putters. Hopefully, you’ll find the disc you need, grab it, and hit the course for a round or two.
You NEED a great putter. So here are 5 to help you amp up your putting game:
The Top 5 Best Disc Golf Putters!
1. Gateway Wizard
I’ve made quite a few “best disc golf putter” lists over the years and the Wizard has never been in the #1 spot, even though it’s one of the best in all of disc golf. That’s okay, because today is the day I change that. With flight ratings of 2, 3, 0, 2, you’re not gonna’ find too many better discs than this one.
The Wizard is one of the highest-reviewed, yet most underrated discs in the game, in my opinion. Players absolutely love this putter but no one really talks about it. Probably because the company that makes the Wizard, Gateway Disc Sports, is underrated as well (yet they still make really great plastic).
It took me years to finally pick one up. No idea why. I just already had a couple discs and never found the need to bag it. But I found a decent used disc at Play It Again Sports and picked it up for about $8 bucks.
After playing a single round with it, I was dumbfounded by how great of a disc it was. However, I wasn’t all that surprised after having heard about it for years. After I left the course, I couldn’t stop thinking, “How did I not pick this up until now?!”
If you’re looking for a really great disc golf putter, get a Wizard here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
2. Axiom Envy
The Axiom Envy is another disc that’s been underrated for a LONG time, but has finally begun to get the praise that it deserves. So I’m making the Envy #2 on this list. With flight ratings of 3, 3, 0, 2, this is a fantastic disc that deserves a spot in your bag.
It’s got an interesting story as well: the Envy was VERY underrated until about 2021, when it helped make disc golf history. In one of disc golf’s finest and most viral moments, James Conrad approached hole 18 at the 2021 PDGA Professional World Championship and threw what might be the greatest shot in disc golf history – The Holy Shot. He then went on to win in 1-hole playoff for the championship.
Check that out below ⬇️:
Because of that shot, the Envy became insanely popular overnight and has become a staple putter in many bags, including my own (I probably bag more putters than I should but there are so many great discs including this one).
Overall, the Envy will make a great addition to your disc golf bag. So grab one here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
3. Innova Aviar
Falling down to #3 on this list is the Innova Aviar. Once the most popular putter in the world, it now seeks to stay in the top 5 as other putters inch their way to #1. However, I don’t personally think that the Aviar will ever not be a top 5 disc. It’s very popular and has a very loyal disc golf following. With flight ratings of 2, 3, 0, 1, most disc golfers find this disc incredibly easy to throw and putt with.
As for me, I’ve never kept an Aviar in my bag because I just don’t like them that much. I’ve used them in all kinds of different plastics and have never wanted to keep using them. Especially after throwing with the Judge, the Envy, and other brilliant disc golf putters. That’s not to say that this isn’t a great disc. Just not for me.
I’d encourage you to try this disc first, though, as most of my friends like the Aviar. You can get one here on DiscGolfUnited.com.
4. Dynamic Discs Judge
The Judge is one of my favorite disc golf discs. I got this putter when I first started playing and I’ve loved it ever since. Now I’ve played quite a few rounds by now and I can confidently say that the Judge has been the most consistent disc golf putter that I’ve ever played with.
Some other discs come close to that, including the Axiom Envy, the Gateway Wizard, the Infinite Discs Tomb, and the Viking Discs Rune, but the Judge still wins for me. It’s got just a bit more glide than the Aviar, with flight ratings of 2, 4, 0, 1, but love the feel of the Judge compared to the Aviar.
The Judge is good as either a throwing putter or a putting putter, but I prefer it for putting on most holes. So if you’d like a really great putter, grab a Judge here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
5. Latitude 64 Pure
The Pure might be the most underrated disc on this list. It’s a really nice putter but it doesn’t really ever get the praise it deserves. With flight ratings of 3, 3, -1, 1, the Pure is a very highly-rated putter. For putting, it will get you into the basket almost every time. But as an approach disc, or a throwing putter, this thing is straight as an arrow. All-around phenomenal disc golf putter.
If that’s what you need, grab a Pure here on InfiniteDiscs.com.
So that’s it!
The 5 discs on this list are, in my opinion, the top 5 best putters in all of disc golf. But they’re not the end all be all. These discs can help you compete with almost anybody, but you have to find the right one for you. If you don’t like any of the discs on this list, I’d encourage you to head over to another list I created – The 17 Best Disc Golf Putters – for more options. These discs, and a few others, make up that list.
